Reducing barriers to access

For many right here in our community, hygiene is a luxury.  Good hygiene is a human right.

Hygiene poverty creates a dangerous cycle in families of poor health, increased cost of medical care, low self-esteem, loss of income and employment struggles - all combined leads to poor community health.

A recent study from NC Department of Health found dental decay in Kindergarteners is the highest it has been in years.  This is an alarming indictor of overall health of children today.

Our goal at the Kindness Closet is to provide basic hygiene such as toothpaste, toilet paper, period products and more to all in need. We do this by partnering with other nonprofits who distribute hygiene essentials to their clients.
